WHAT ARE THE IMPORTANT ISSUES FOR THE PEOPLE OF CHITEPANI AND THE SURROUNDING AREA?

"One day we hope to have a resident doctor and we need to have somewhere suitable for the doctor to live."

"If we could employ a female health worker we would be able to concentrate more on women’s health issues. Because Chitepani is so remote, it is difficult to attract someone from outside the village to come and settle here."

"We need to improve our drinking water supply. We have several taps in the village but sometimes the water is polluted."

"We are short of teachers and our school needs to be painted inside. Most of our classrooms need new equipment."

"We would like to offer clever children an opportunity to go to secondary school through scholarships or sponsorship. Most of our families are too poor to pay the school fees."

"Now we have BioGas we need more buffaloes to fuel the system. If we had a small breeding herd we could use the dung for BioGas, the village would benefit from additional milk and we could help nearby villages by selling some of the calves to them at reasonable prices."
